Members

In 2011, the Cindex has:

  • 49 member companies, including 32 from the CAC40
  • 2 associate members: the OFII (French agency in charge of migration and welcoming foreign people) and the CFE (Caisse des Français de l’Etranger: the expatriates’ social security)

Over 300 people participate in Cindex's activities: HR managers, Compensation & Benefits Directors, managers and experts in international mobility, tax specialists, security/safety managers, occupational health doctors, representing the member companies in the different commissions.

In 2010, there were 53,839 employees overseas in more than 173 countries (131,000 people with families). 

Membership

Membership of Cindex is through cooptation. The Board of Directors reserves the right to accept or reject applications for membership. Only legal entities can become members of Cindex. Those are represented by individuals belonging to the entities and chosen by the member companies.

Cindex is open to International companies, taking the following into consideration:

Any company of international standing with a decision-making centre located in Europe, on condition that:

  • It has a significant number of internationally mobile employees (at least one hundred expatriates)
  • It has a genuine international mobility policy applied consistently within the company 

Any company subsidiary of major international Groups and established in Europe, on condition that:

  • It has a significant number of employees abroad (at least one hundred expatriates)
  • It is able, in the context of Cindex meetings, to present its international mobility policy at least for the European zone
  • It is able to dialogue or communicate on the practices of the Group to which it belongs in the European zone, or even the entire world, by agreeing to take part regularly in Cindex surveys.
